Compliance Specialist

EIT (Electronic Instrumentation & Technology) is looking for a Compliance Specialist to join our team in our Leesburg, VA location! EIT is a Contract Manufacturer specializing in Electronic Manufacturing Services and serves customers in the sectors of Industry, Communications, Aerospace, Defense and Healthcare.
Job Description:
The position of Compliance Specialist assists and supports the organization in complying with government regulations and/or regulatory agencies; including the ongoing preparation, testing and monitoring of conformance to meet government requirements.

Performs evaluation of internal operations, controls, communications, risk assessments and maintenance of documentation as related to regulatory compliance and recommends appropriate changes

Manages comprehensive internal export controls to ensure compliance with U.S. (ITAR and EAR) and foreign regulations in the conduct of international marketing, sales, supply chain, and other business activities

Works to ensure compliance with export laws that enhance foreign policy and protect national security

Conducts and facilitates internal and external audits to identify, evaluate, disclose, and appropriately remedy risks and deficiencies

Coordinates the preparation of internal and external audits and inspections

May serve as point of contact for interactions with regulatory agencies for defined matters

Update and maintain internal and externally facing security documentation

Maintain and track required security training for ITAR/CUI

Maintain and update security and compliance reporting

Facilitate vendor security assessments as needed

Manage security and compliance related projects

Work with IT and HR departments to investigate and respond to any legal or regulatory violations

Conduct regular reviews of contracts and agreements to ensure compliance

Develop and maintain a system for managing and responding to legal requests for access to sensitive data
Qualifications and Experience:
-
Bachelor’s degree required
-
Minimum of 3 years of compliance experience within the manufacturing industry

Advanced knowledge of and experience with ITAR, CUI, CMMC, FARs and DFARs

Contract review experience ensuring company policies and procedures are inline with requirements

Effective communicator, educator and motivator of people and teams

Ability to understand and explain complex regulations in clear and concise language

Strategic business partner with strong business acumen who is adept at managing and reducing potential risk and exposure while furthering strategic objectives

Proactive, self-starting, driven, pragmatic, astute, solution-oriented professional who has a strong leadership presence

High degree of professional ethics and integrity

Travel to company sites, 3-4 times per year, to audit processes and train personnel
